Abstract

Purpose: To assess the correlation between Down syndrome and delayed eruption of permanent teeth, in relation to the chronological age, in children with Down syndrome.

Methods: The study group included 80 children in mixed dentition, of ages between 6 and 12 years: 30 children with Down syndrome and 50 healthy children. Clinical and radiological examinations were done, focusing on the relation between dental age and chronological age of all patients.
